You've launched the Coaching Culture Platform as part of your coaching strategy and now you want to ensure maximum engagement from users is achieved.
Firstly, to change behaviours, it’s important to demystify coaching and define what it is (and isn’t) to encourage momentum, interest and support for the benefits and power of coaching conversations.
Here are some ideas to consider when looking to create engagement:
- Clear comms strategy - Ensure your communications strategy is designed to not only communicate the overall coaching strategy, but to also win the hearts and minds of your users.
- Promote the benefits - Focus on how the Platform and each Solution will benefit the user and their teams - what they should expect when, what will be expected of them, what problems could it help solve, and a reminder of how coaching is a key part of being a leader.
- Coaching champions - Set up a network of coaching champions to help build internal support. Encourage champions to: share their skills and knowledge, role model coaching conversations amongst colleagues, offer support with frequently asked questions, and to signpost resources as subject matter experts.
- Gather feedback - Continue to build trust through open channels of communication. For example, use surveys and listening groups to obtain regular feedback from users. Use this feedback in your comms and any internal promotion.
Celebrate successes - Reward and recognise positive coaching behaviours through feedback and celebrating colleagues who coach. For example, consider coaching awards to highlight success stories.
- Allocate time - Actively promote and provide time for self-reflection. For example, encourage activities like journaling and digital self-coaching (Mindset) where people can take time to think through their actions and behaviours, and learn from every experience.
Blended learning programmes - Use the digital platform alongside facilitator lead workshops and sessions to allow employees to develop their coaching capabilities through a blended experience.
