Introducing the Coaching Culture content is often part of a bigger change programme within an organisation. We often get asked how to do this successfully, and we advise the following model to effectively manage any change:
- C – Communication - Create awareness, state the intent and vision, communicate what’s coming and what will be expected of people
- H - Hearts and Minds – Sell the benefits, and also highlight the downsides if it doesn’t happen. Change occurs when people 'see the light or feel the heat'
- A – Ability - Give people the tools to build their own capability, ensure correct access to the tools is given, provide protected learning time. Give people the confidence to give it a go..
- N - New ways - Embrace and explore new ways, introduce change champions
- G - Give Praise - Celebrate successes and share these stories, gather & share feedback, don’t just focus on the bad
- E - Embed – Ensure the systems and processes are in place to make sure the new ways are sustainable going forwards. This will ensure regular coaching conversations and giving effective feedback become part of everyday life. Make sure people are rewarded too.
